When you meet me for the first time for your first lesson, you will be asked to produce your provisional driving licence. I will check your eyesight by asking you to read a vehicle registration number plate at a distance of 20.5m or 67ft. If you normally wear glasses please wear them for driving. It is also advisable to wear comfortable shoes as it will make your learning experience easier.
If you are unable to read the number plate you are not legally allowed to drive on the road and must seek correctional advice from your optition. If you are taking medication that could affect your ability to drive please seek medical advice.
On your first lesson you will be driven a short distance to somewhere quiet i.e. a housing estate. You are now ready for your first ever driving lesson. This involves going through the controls etc and moving the vehicle. The school car is fitted with dual controls which gives me complete control and gives you complete confidence. The aim is to teach you enough basics to be able to join the proper roads as quickly as possible, this is where you will do all your learning and then be able to pass your driving test.
